"If I Can Dream" Episode 3

In "IF I CAN DREAM" Episode 3, "Welcome to New Hollywood", the Hollywood hopefuls move into the "Dream" house and describe what it is like to live in a fish-bowl, surrounded by 56 cameras 24/7.

The cast includes: Amanda Phillips, Giglianne Braga, Kara Killmer, Justin Gaston and Benjamin Elliott. Soon to be joining the kids in the "Dream" house is Alex Lambert, an American Idol Season 9 Top 12 Guys finalist.

"IF I CAN DREAM" launched across multiple platforms including online, radio, TV and mobile handsets. It can be seen live 24/7 with a recap show available for viewers around the world at the end of each week. The project is produced by Simon Fuller's 19 Entertainment, and partnered by a ground breaking distribution platform that combines radio/digital and online. "IF I CAN DREAM" is supported by PepsiCo and Ford Motor Company. (Interestingly, American Idol, another Simon Fuller production, is supported by Coca Cola and Ford.)

"IF I CAN DREAM" gives viewers a documentary-like look at what it takes to achieve success and recognition in Hollywood in 2010. The viewer will watch as an initial group of five young people - a musician, an actor, two actresses and a model - leave their hometowns and live together high up in the Hollywood Hills. Their every move will be streamed live online as they rehearse, write music, socialize and plan their careers. Innovative camera and sensor technology will allow a global audience to interact with the aspiring performers through text, blogs, MySpace, twitter and facebook as the action unfolds in real-time--something that has never been attempted on a global scale before."

Alex Lambert 'stars' in "If I Can Dream"

After being voted off American idol Season 9, Alex Lambert landed a gig on Simon Fuller's "If I Can Dream" due to his huge amount of support from fans, and the numerous petitions sent to Fuller's production company. (At least that's why internet rumors say he's there...)

Alex Lambert joins 'If I Can Dream' cast, loses mullet

Proof positive that dreams really can come true in Hollywood, the producers of "If I Can Dream," the 24-7 "post-reality" series that's the brainchild of "American Idol" creator Simon Fuller, have offered a sixth spot on the show's cast -- and in its multi-million dollar mansion -- to Top 24 reject Alex Lambert! He's moving in on Thursday with a new look and -- gasp -- a haircut!

It seems the outpouring of support for this Season 9 fan favorite, whose "Idol" run was cut short when he got eliminated on the March 11 Top 16 episode, piqued the producers' interest, particularly when some 19,000 people signed a petition to "Bring Alex Lambert BACK on 'American Idol.'"

To that end, fans can thank organizer Jessica Bongiorno, who wrote the 1,000-word petition text and played no small part in his "If I Can Dream" Campaign. The next few months should be a whirlwind of activity for the aspiring singer as he gets a crash course in the music industry, meeting with songwriters, coaches and the media. At the same time, the current "Dream" cast will gain another roommate.

The details of his arrival (like how Alex is getting around the three-month contract which ostensibly sequesters all "Idol" Top 24 contestants) have yet to be revealed, and may even play out online for all to see. But like most objects in the 'Dream' house -- i.e. the massive Elvis Presley photograph in the living room (Elvis' image, CKX, 19 Entertainment's parent company, owns, and "If I Can Dream" is a seminal Elvis song) -- this is perhaps the best example of synergy at work: giving one talented kid a second chance at stardom. And isn't that what the show is all about?

We've said it before and we'll say it again: welcome to the future, people. And Alex, welcome back to L.A. We'll be seeing you soon!
